Abstract
To take a break from the monotony of life, people seek tranquility and appreciate nature. And for this reason, Saint Martin is the best choice to make. The best time to visit Saint Martin is December through February. This island is considered the most visited destination, an eco-tourist attraction, and the only coral island of Bangladesh. It is also known as the marine paradise of Bangladesh. In addition to providing refreshment, this island generates millions of dollars each year. Our country has plenty of opportunities to earn foreign exchange and create jobs through promoting the tourism sector. Researchers have tried to capture the impact of tourism on the socio-economic environment from the viewpoint of fishermen. The lives and livelihoods of fishermen are almost entirely dependent on tourism. Tourism, being an independent activity, is continuously shaping their life and perception. But there exists a nonlinear relationship between fishermen and the socio-economic environment. That is, the changes between these two variables are non-proportional. The key finding from this study are that it is yet to discover the charm of tourism. The government and respective authorities should collaborate to make the region the most travel-friendly destination. Although tourism is an emerging sector, the authorities should focus on developing the foundational aspects of the region by enhancing local land, beach, and water resources and providing essential facilities such as education, power, transportation, and monitoring. This base preparation calls for long-term planning and proper execution.
